The Hamilton Minor Football Association, or "HMFA" is a minor football organization based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We currently operate 20 football teams allowing particpation for players from ages 8 to 14. Some of the major benefits of our organization include: * Guaranteed Playing Time: we believe that every child should have an active experience in game situations. We guarantee that every child in our league will be given a minimum of 25% of the playing time on his/her side of the ball. We also limit the number of players per team to 34 and observe a two-platoon rule so that the same 9 or 10 players don't play all game while the others sit on the bench; this means with a roster of 34, there is at most 5 subs per side of the ball to rotate through the lineup. * Convenient Practice Locations for all Teams: we've worked hard over the years to secure practice fields in different areas of the city to make getting to practice easier for players & parents. * Quality Equipment: the HMFA works to continuously provide quality equipment to our participants. Each player is provided helmet, shoulder pads, and all leg pads, and mouthguard. We also provide game pants, so there is no need to purchase any of these. The HMFA does not currently sell football cleats. * High Quality Game Jersey: every player in the HMFA receives a high quality game jersey. The players get to KEEP these jerseys at the end of the season. * Screened Coaches: all coaches in our league are required to present a valid vulnerable sector screening prior to the first regular season game. * 40+ Years in Existence: founded in the 1960's, the HMFA is one of the oldest minor football organizations in Canada and has been providing the youth of the Hamilton area a quality experience for over forty years.
